Imaging and surgery

Imaging and surgery

Imaging technologies and instruments have made significant progress in recent years. They allow both in vivo exploration in animals or fine analysis in organs and up to molecular interactions within cells. Surgery allows both the catheterization, the positioning of cathether and specific devices to release active substances (eg antibiotics) for longitudinal follow-ups. All these methodologies and procedures also aim to limit experimentation and participate in the application of the 3R rule.

Imagerie in vivo et ex vivo sur petit et gros animaux

In vivo and ex vivo imaging in small and large animals In vivo imaging allows a broad range of non-invasive investigations, the tracking of immune cells or monitoring the progression of a pathogen expressing luciferase in different body compartments during the course of the infection.

The CIMAC platform (Surgery, imaging and anesthesia in confinement) is located within the PFIE Infrastructure. All experiments are performed by staff trained in surgery.
