Infrastructure for studying vectors and associated pathogens

Three platforms at Emergin have facilities for the breeding of arthropods (Culicoides, Glossines, Aedes mosquitoes, Anopheles and Culex, Ticks) and their infection with level 2 and 3 pathogens

• Study of vector competence by experimental infections with pathogens: host/vectors/pathogens mosquito
• Development of molecular tools for the taxonomy and diagnosis of pathogens transmitted by these vectors.
• Production of transgenic vector lines
• Study of life history traits of arthropods to better understand their bio-ecology
• Development of innovative methods of vector control and evaluation of biocides.
