Emerg'in

EMERG’IN, is a Research infrastructure for the control of animal and zoonotic emerging infectious diseases through in vivo investigation.

Emerg'in aims :

  • at providing France with a national coordination tool to increase basic knowledge and propose diagnostic and control solutions for emerging animal infectious diseases, vectorized or not, capable of endangering entire livestock sectors (economic threat, food sovereignty, safety and food security) or affecting public health to the fore (emerging zoonotic diseases, malevolence).
  • at constituting a Rapid Reaction Force to fight emerging infectious diseases (veterinary public health and animal health, including wildlife), a preparedness plan advocated by the OIE - World Organization for Animal Health - and at the European level.
  • at proposing resources and know-how from five recognized animal facilities of infectiology of INRAE (Nouzilly and Jouy-en-Josas), ANSES (Ploufragan-Plouzané and Malzéville) and CIRAD (Montpellier), equipped with laboratories and containment facilities for infectious disease research.
  • at developing public-private partnerships in the field of diagnostics and veterinary medicinal products as well as in the field of innovations in "Bio-control" of infectious agents and their vectors (if applicable) and for animal products.
